DOG WHO GUARDED HIS MOTHER’S BODY FINDS A NEW HOME - “Refusing to leave his dead mother’s side for days after she was hit…Prince was skinny, hot, and scared.”
In late April, a Labrador Retriever was killed by a car on Highway 58 near Comanche, California. Her son, a 4-month-old named Prince, refused to leave her body and roamed the area for days. Fortunately, he was rescued by local animal rescuers, and received help by a rescue organization called Marley’s Mutts. Prince has now been adopted by a family in California. There’s a happy ending to what began as a sad dog tale. A four-month-old Labrador Retriever, caught on a popular YouTube video refusing to leave his dead mother’s side, is in his new forever home now. Prince…is now part of a Bakersfield family…
Katy Hutson and Courtney Cleric are local animal rescue volunteers. They just happened to be the ones who found Prince last month…Refusing to leave his dead mother’s side for days after she was hit on Highway 58 near Comanche, Prince was skinny, hot, and scared. After hours of trying, they caught him…Joe says that video and painful past is behind Prince now. And, the future is filled with Joe’s daughter stealing many wet nose kisses.
“My daughter adores him,” said Joe. “She crawled in the crate with him and they slept together.”
Prince can now rest safely in his new home. Hopefully he recovers soon from his terrible experience. Click here for the full story, and here for more pictures of Prince on the Facebook page of one of the rescuers.
