FAMILY MOVES INTO NEW APARTMENT AND FINDS ABANDONED DOG - “Blackie’s former owner actually came back to get some boxes on Monday but had no interest in the dog. ”No thanks, we’ve got two kids,” Alexandra Philibert quoted the former owner as saying.”
A puppy named Blackie was abandoned in a locked bathroom by his owners who had moved out of their apartment in Montreal, Canada. When the new family moved into the apartment, they found Blackie in bad condition. Blackie’s owners had left him behind for days. Here’s more from cnews:
The dog was malnourished and filthy, its fur matted with dried dung in many places.
The house was also very hot, a problem that was exacerbated because the windows were closed, Philibert said.
“He could have died,” she said. “Had we not moved this weekend, who knows what would have happened?…“It’s a shame,” she said. “He listens well. He just wants to be loved.”

Alanna Devine, director of the Montreal SPCA, says the treatment of Blackie was “not only irresponsible and cruel, it’s also illegal.”
There are no words to describe the anger I felt towards the despicable people who left Blackie behind to die. Blackie is now receiving treatment and is recovering at the Montreal SPCA. Hopefully he finds a new family that will love and care for him. Click here for the full story.
